DJ

Paulo Gois

During the past few years this truly international DJ (originally from Portugal) has planted himself firmly among the ranks of headlining DJs, performing at some of the world’s largest and most prestigious parties: Black and Blue Montreal, New York’s Saint at Large Black Party, Alegria, Peter Rauhofer’s “Work!” events, Fire Island’s Pines Party and Dancing on the Bay, Orlando’s Gay Days, Winter and White Parties in Miami, White Party Palm Springs, Sydney’s Mardi Gras, Rio and Florianopolis’ Carnival , and Taiwan’s Ministry of Sound just to name a few.

PAULO has held residencies at esteemed clubs such as, more recently XL & currently VIVA in NYC, Score in Miami, and Los Angeles’ Masterbeat, Momentum and Reflex events. Outside of his California home base, his club dates are as impressive as his party credits. These have included the Roxy, Crobar (M2), Roseland and Pacha in NYC, Crobar and Hydrate in Chicago and Space, Mekka and Masion in Miami. Internationally, he has headlined various venues in Brazil (Revolution & The Week), Japan (Ageha), Mexico City (Karmabeat), Montreal (Stereo)) Toronto (Guvernment), Amsterdam (Rapido) even Ibiza at Amnesia and Trade in London (an achievement few American based DJs can claim). The non-stop demand for PAULO’s unique sound contributed to his being voted DJ/Producer/Remixer of the year in 2011 by Just Circuit.

PAULO’s credits include Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance”, Christina Aguilera’s ‘Not Myself Tonight’ (#1 Billboard), Chaka Kahn and Mary J Blige’s ‘Disrespectful’ (#1 on Billboard), Kristina Debarge’s ‘Goodbye’ and Ralphi Rosario’s ‘Everybody Shake It’ as well as Anjulie’s ‘Boom’ all of which reached #1 on Billboard. Older remixes include ‘Luv To Luv’ and ‘Fascinated’, Suzanne Palmer remixes on *69 Records, Tommy Boy Records ‘Love Song’ (an ode to the legendary Israeli songstress Ofra Haza ) and ‘Lift It Up’ by Inaya Day (which spent time at #1 on Billboard) and a remix for DJ Chus ‘Black Rain’ on Stereo Productions. His private mixes of current artist such as Adele, Madonna, Rihanna, Britney Spears, and Lady Gaga are musical gems he usually only saves for his “live” club events, other djs and on his Podcasts which are listened to by thousands around the globe.

PAULO has stepped into the role of mentor to those who demonstrate a love for the music; Canadian DJ Alain Jackinsky has been successfully spinning events with Paulo and collaborating with him in the studio. In 2012 “Chicky Boom!” featuring Michael G established itself as an international club favorite. Additionally Paulo and Alain provided a remix of Justin Bieber’s “As Long as You Love Me” for Island Records as well as Christina Aguilera’s “Your Body”. Anticipate some premier productions coming from this team in the upcoming year.

Co-founder of Pure Music Productions, Paulo has built one of the hottest independent record labels; providing top-10 progressive tracks on Beatport and various digital download sites. Paulo’s remixes, edits and mash-ups or as he calls them: “a little something I threw together” are coveted by fans and DJs alike. His podcasts often put out in tandem as primetime and afterhours sets are eagerly awaited compilations and are ranked as some of the most downloaded podcasts on the web. It is Paulo’s live performances and unique sets of tribal-injected house music mixed with hypnotic vocal tracks that are the hallmark of his sets.
