DJ Abrupt has been part of the night club scene for over 10 years, rocking the NY tri state, NJ clubs as well as venues in MEXICO, Dominican Republic, and in his native country of Bolivia. Raised in Queens NY, Abrupt purchased his first set of turntables at 16 years of age. He then started sharpening his DJ skills at local parties and halls of Corona, Queens. Three years later he broke into the NYC club scene and debuted at Carbon ( a.k.a Exit night club). It wasn’t long before promoters and other night-trend setters noticed his unique style and invited him to play at venues like Club Speed, Blue Angels, and Metropolis.

DJ Abrupt felt he needed to push himself more and decided to develop his skills even further by mixing music not typically heard through club speakers.

He developed a unique style of making his own original remixes that included mashups of Rock & hip hop, reggae & 80’s, R&B & house along with original music into all of his sets. After a brief hiatus Abrupt returned to the club scene in 2004 sharper and better than ever. Now part of the Salute ent family, he now weaves together some of the best mixes and beats you’ll hear in the nightlife.

The night scene has recognized Abrupt not only for his blending skills but also for his ability to adapt to any crowd. Pushing crowds over the edge with his energy and microphone skills no matter the mix of party-goers, he’ll sense the collective pulse of the crowd and then give them exactly what they are looking for. When asked how he does it, he says simply: “I can feel the crowd feeding off of my music.
